Harley decided she would cut me a break and not wait until Sunday to deliver. On Friday, 11/18 she was panting a ton and going outside often but absolutely no nesting signs. Her temperature dropped on Thursday night so we knew labor was close. At 4:00PM, the first puppy arrived to my surprise as she was trying to get a drink of water. Pup number 2 came immediately after the first one and the others spaced themselves out until she was done at about 8:30 with number 7. The final count is 4 girls and 3 boys.
All have gained weight since yesterday which is wonderful, it's what we want to see. We'll continue to weigh them daily for the first couple of weeks to make sure every pup is gaining weight which means they are getting enough milk. Harley may be a first time mama, but she's doing a great job. She needed us right by her all last evening but has been adjusting and gaining more confidence today to know we don't need to be in her pen with her at all times. We got her pen all cleaned up and fresh for the day. Tomorrow we'll start on ENS - Early Neurological Stimulation & ESI - Early Scent Introduction work for the puppies. ENS benefits include: improved heart rates, stronger heart beats, stronger adrenal glands, increases stress tolerance and greater resistance to disease. ESI helps produce pups with superior noses and impressive scent recognition which is essential in companion, therapy and service training dogs. These medium goldendoodle puppies will range from a lighter red to a very deep red. Most of them have white markings, some on their heads and some on their chests. We expect adult weight to be in the 35-45 lb range. We do have availability on the list. Please fill out an application if interested and we'll reach out. We'll continue to post updates and new photos on this page so make sure to check back often; or follow us on Instagram and Facebook for more frequent updates. Comments are closed.
